The North Harbour Heritage Park is located within the North Harbour community development, 45 kms North of Brisbane. The park is centred around the heritage listed remains of the ‘Moray-Fields’ settlement.
Prior to the park’s development our client requested a range of spatial data of the existing site for use in the design and planning process of the park. As much of the area is heritage listed the final design was required to have little to no impact on the remains of Moray-Fields. Knowing the constraints that the designers faced we recommend the following approach:
- A Laser Scan of the densely vegetated areas and heritage items.
- Traditional topographic survey over non-densely vegetated and non-heritage areas of the park.
- UAV aerial survey over the entire park footprint and access way.
We were able to provide our client with a range of spatial data products including combined point clouds, digital surfaces, topographic plans and updated aerial images of the entire park. These products enabled the client and other professionals to plan and design the overall park with as little impact as possible to the heritage area and the surrounding environment.
