Parliament House
Land Solution Australia was initially contacted for Heritage Monitoring of internal and external sections of old Parliament House. This included Vibration Monitoring, Periodic Photographic Dilapidation Reports and Periodic Laser Scanning which was used to provide cloud to cloud comparisons to key external sections.
Once the building had the levels stripped out, Land Solution Australia scanned Levels 9 to 24 of the Queensland Parliament House Annexe.
How we did it
As part of the Pre Construction Works we provided a Dilapidation Survey of the area to track if any changes occur during the construction phase of the project.
A main focus for Land Solution Australia was on providing 3D Laser Scanning of fifteen levels of fully stripped out floors plus floor and ceiling elevation heat maps. These were used to assist the construction teams to understand what the clearances were between floor and ceiling and the levelness of the floors. Additionally, we provided accurate dimensions to exposed columns and critical walls and compared these to the design plans to assist construction teams.
During excavation and construction of the crane base we utilised multiple vibration sensors to provide round the clock monitoring of nearby heritage structures, for the remainder of the project we provided monitoring via periodic laser scanning and photographic dilapidations surveys.
Outcomes
Due to the heritage importance of the surrounding buildings and the extensive works in the Annexe area, Land Solution Australia is proud to be a part of the major upgrade in the services that will be on offer to MPs and staff.
